Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI), a world-class aerospace and defense company, will present some of its cutting-edge aviation, air defense and radar systems at the HEMUS Exhibition, taking place June 1-4, 2022 (join IAI at Pavilion 3, Booth #T1) in Plovdiv, Bulgaria.
As one of the leading defense exhibitions in Eastern Europe, HEMUS will provide IAI with an opportunity to showcase its state-of-the-art technologies while broadening new and existing partnerships with Bulgarian and other European partners.
IAI will showcase a variety of its holistic systems, emphasizing its aviation, air defense and radar capabilities. It will present the next generation of the highly acclaimed ELM-2084 Multi-Mission Radar (MMR), that will be offered to Bulgaria in the coming RFP stage within the tender for new radars. The offer to Bulgaria will include transfer of technology and know-how from Israel to Bulgaria, as well as industry collaboration for the benefit of the local industry.
IAI’s booth will include advanced integrated solution for aerial threats – BARAK MX, a revolutionary missile and air defense system; HERON UAS, a medium altitude long endurance (MALE) unmanned aerial system (UAS) for strategic and tactical missions; ROTEM, an vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) loitering munition; PCL (ELK-7080), a passive coherent location system; systems and sensors for advanced combat vehicles such as OTHELLO (ELO-5220), a gunfire detection system; StormGuard (ELM-2135), a vehicle multi-mission radar system; and WindGuard (ELM-2133), an active protection phased-array radar.
The MMR, which is operational and combat-proven, provides both surveillance and defense capabilities to customers around the world, and is integrative and compatible with NATO systems. The radar detects and classifies threats, and supplies weapon systems with the data necessary to neutralize a number of those threats simultaneously. Thanks to the system’s advanced tracking capabilities, the radar provides situational awareness which is both precise and reliable, and includes the detection and identification of targets having low signatures. The MMR can deal simultaneously with multiple missions – including air defense against aircraft, UAVs and drones, artillery against varied enemy targets, and the identification and location ofnrocket launches, enemy artillery, and mortars, while locating both the launch and expected hit position, and controlling and intercepting missiles launched against these threats.
The MMR is the ‘brain’ of Israel’s prominent air and missile defense systems such as: Barak MX, Iron Dome and David’s Sling. Up to date over 150 such systems have been sold to customers around the world. In Central and Eastern Europe, ELTA’s MMRs have already been acquired by three countries – the Czech Republic, Hungary and Slovakia.
IAI President and CEO, Boaz Levy: “IAI looks forward to participating in HEMUS exhibition and showcasing our cutting-edge technologies to other companies from the region and the world. IAI’s Systems of Systems reflect the company’s decades-long experience, operational expertise, and innovative spirit that make IAI a globally-recognized leader in the industry. We look forward to building new partnerships and broadening existing collaborations as we continue to innovate and develop advanced technological solutions.”
